Videoton travel to Budapest on Wednesday in the 8th round of the cup.
The biggest match of the autumn season lies ahead of Vidi on Saturday. They travel to the home of second in the league Ferencvaros. However, there is a Hungarian cup game to play before that and a visit to Vac. The game on Wednesday, will kick off at midday and Vidi will be looking to make it into the final 16 of the competition. Vac FC play their home games in Budapest at the III district TVE stadium.
Vac currently sit in 5th place together with Nyiregyhaza. They lost at the weekend away at Dorog by 2-0. Although the top two sides, MTK and Kisvarda, have built a good lead at the top from the chasing pack, the teams behind them are closely tied.
Top goalscorer with 8 goals to his name is Adam Bajlati. He is a former U20 international player, who helped Hungary to a bronze place finish at the 2009 - U20 World Cup. Richard Zsolnai, who came through the youth ranks has 5 goals to his name. It is interesting that their 27 goals have been shared between 8 players. Former Siofok coach Karoly Horvath is in charge of Vac and he has done a good job so far this season.
Vac FC have had a good run in the Hungarian cup this season. A 2-0 win over Nagyatad was followed up by a 1-0 victory over Salgotarjan away. Attila Abu was in goal for both of those games, and he was a former youth team player with Vidi between the age of 11-14. Other keeper Peter Halasi is another to have come through the Fehervar youth system. He was at the club from 2003-2011. He sat on the substitutes bench back in 2007 for a NBI match. However, he did not make his debut for the Vidi first team, but did go in goal in several league cup games. He was a regular keeper for the second team.
Daniel Havasi is the third player with Videoton connections in the Vac squad. He played 27 times for the NBIII Vidi team in season 2014-15.
