Exit from the Hungarian cup after defeat to Vac

Vidi suffered a 3-1 defeat in the 8th round of the cup on Wednesday afternoon.

Vidi had beaten Mohacs and Dabas in earlier round 4-0. Next up were second division side Vac, who are currently in 6th place. Roland Juhasz and Stopira were not included in the squad, while Geresi, Patkai, Lazovic, Kovacsik and Nego all sat on the bench for the game. Hadzic took a free kick on 24 minutes that went wide of the Vac goal. Horvath again saved an effort from a Vac player a minute later.

The first goal arrived after 27 minutes. A counter attack from Vac down the right ended with a Zsolnai pass finding Balajti, who sent in a low cross from the goal line for Gergely Toth to score with his heel at make it 1-0. Vac were pressed back inside their half with Fiola seeing his header saved by Abu. A Kovacs corner was flicked on by Bence Toth but it skimmed the crossbar. The teams went in at the break with the home side leading by a single goal.

Lazovic came on at half time for Kovacs. A Tamas cross after 53 minutes was headed over by Hadzic as the pressure continued. Geresi came on to replace Henty after 59 minutes while Nego replaced Szolnoki after 65 minutes. A Lazovic corner was headed wide by Toth, while Nego saw his cross connected by Scepovic, but it also went wide of the target.

Vacs increased their lead after 77 minutes when Balajti sent a high ball over to Zsolnai, who scored from close range (2-0).
