It was a busy day for Marko Nikolic and defender Roland Juhasz.
Marko Nikolic and Roland Juhasz met the press at the Groupama Arena at 13.00pm on Tuesday. There were many present from the media to hear their views: "We have not had this much interest from the media before a Vidi game and it is nice that so many are interested in us."
"We can be proud that we are sitting here at the gates of the group stage. We are pleased that we could bring these Champions League games to Hungary. We had a dream at the start of the summer and we are now here at the play off's. I hope that our dream can carry on. AEK are the favourites in this tie, but this has been the case since the first qualifier. We have improved as we have gone along and now we are here. I would give both sides 50-50% chance of going through. We will fight but at the same time enjoy that we have made it so far" - commented manager Marko Nikolic.
"I am proud of the team and that we have moved forward from our errors of last summer. However, we are ahead of our biggest step yet. There is no pressure on us and we all want that success even more. The weekend game went well, which has given our confidence an extra boost. We have to handle this success and the team have developed since last year. I scored the best goal in my career against AEK 8 years ago. I have nice memories playing against them. I would like to point out that Vidi have made it to the EL group stage for sure, and we are fighting to get in to the CL group stage. The players and coaches have done their part, but so have the medical staff, kitmen and all of the people that work for Vidi. We never talk to much about those in the background, but they are very important as we are all one team"- said Roland Juhasz.
The squad had their final training session ahead of the match, but they did not train in Budapest. They stayed in Szekesfehervar and in home surroundings.
