Paulo Sousa: "We played with maturity"

"We managed to win a difficult game against excellent opponents. Diosgyőr are improving all the time, and their supporters are amazing, providing a great atmosphere at each home match. It was the same in today's game. We were fortunate to take the lead, and then had several chances following that. At the same time, our defence remained very organised and effective. Nikolics then scored a goal in the final minute to increase our advantage. We played with different tactics in this match, than we had used in earlier ones. My players did all that was asked of them on the pitch from a tactical point of view. I am especially pleased about this" - said Paulo Sousa.

Benczés Miklós, DVTK manager gave his thoughts on the first leg, league cup tie.

"There were some good solutions in the game, which we need to keep, while we need to improve on the mistakes we made. I felt that we were up against a very strong Videoton side, and we stood our ground for large periods, and there were also parts when we were better." The Diosgyőr manager then saved some words of praise for Paulo Sousa.
"I would just like to say that from our first game between us, and in today's game, I can say that I respect Paulo Sousa, who is a worthy colleague of mine, which is why I do not really know what to make of the things, that have been connected to him, since he arrived in Hungary" - concluded Benczes Miklos.
