Nikolics could hit the 100 mark on Saturday

The stats show that the forward is currently on 98 goals so a double on Saturday would be enough.

Nemanja Nikolics scored his first goal in the top division on the 1st March 2008, when he scored for Kaposvar in a match against Videoton, which they won 1-0. Statistics show that the player is currently at the 98 mark in league goals.

"There was a REAC - Kaposvar match in the spring of 2009, which ended in a 3-3 draw. The third Kaposvar goal in that game was headed in by Viktor Petrok, but I managed to make contact with the ball, but it is hard to say whether I touched the ball in front of the goal line or behind. Petrok was officially given that goal, so I also base my own figures on the official amount, which means that I have scored 98 goals" - commented Niko as he remembered back to that game.

Come and watch the big match against Győr on Saturday, support Niko on his way to 100 goals!

Nikolics has scored those 98 goals in 180 league matches, which averages out to 0,54 or that he scores in every other league match he plays in the first division. If we look at the figures of all home league matches, Hungarian cup and league cup, then the stats are even more impressive with a total of 239 games producing 138 goals, with an average of 0,58. (Niko also scored goals in both the Hungarian second and third division, but we are only taking into account his goals at the top level.)

Niko has twice been top goalscorer in Hungary over the last 7 years. These came in 2010 and 2014, although he did finish joint top with Paks striker Attila Simon last season. His 98 first division goals to date have seen him score 30 for former club Kaposvar and 68 in the colours of Vidi.

"I think that everyone focuses with their own stats, and this is especially the case for a forward, as our job is to score goals. I am really happy that I have scored this many, and mainly because it shows that I have been able to stay at this consistent level for several years now. I am 26 so scoring 98 is also good if you take that into account. I have scored these goals over the last 6 years. I would naturally be very happy to score my 100th goal at the Sostoi stadium against Győr" - commented Niko.
