Nikolics called up as stand by for the national team

Hungary face important qualification matches against Romania and Estonia in September.

The Hungarian national side face an important qualification match in Bucharest on the 6th September. Sandor Egervari has named his squad for that match, which includes Istvan Kovacs and Nemanja Nikolics, who has been named on the stand by list.

The goalscorer has hit the back of the net 7 times, giving him the chance to show what he can do in the national side, in the event that he receives the call up. "It could well be that we will need to count on him, as we have 10 players on yellow cards, with a tense match coming up between Romania and Hungary, meaning that some players may pick up cautions, so we may need the services of Nikolics" - commented Sandor Egervari on the Hungarian FA website.

Egervari also spoke about Istvan Kovacs: "He is a member of the squad, but he will probably not start the match in Bucharest, and the U21 side have an important game one day before, so he is needed there. He will then link up with us before the match with Estonia."

Roland Juhasz picked up an injury in Sunday's match with Győr. He will not feature in the two international matches, with Egervari naming the following squad.
