Tamás Pető is the new manager of Fehérvár FC

Our club has agreed everything with the 50-year-old coach, who will meet our players for the first time on Monday.

From Monday, Tamás Pető will take charge of our NB I football team - we have agreed everything with the coach, who has previously worked for our club as a player, scout, assistant coach and acting head coach, so after completing the administrative tasks, he will start working with our team on Monday.

Tamás Pető was born on the 8th June 1974 in Ajka. He started his career in Veszprém, then in 1995 he moved to Győr, from where he moved to Székesfehérvár a year later. In the 1996/97 season he scored 6 goals in 37 matches for our team. He moved to Újpest, and in 1998 he was a member of the last champion team of the Budapest club. In the early 2000s, he spent a year in Belgium before returning home to win a league bronze medal with Vasas. He then spent six years in the Netherlands with NAC Breda, where he made 83 appearances and scored 5 goals. He finished his professional career with Lombard Pápa in 2009. He played 14 times for the Hungarian national team between 1998 and 2002.

After his retirement, he worked as a scout at Vidi between 2011 and 2012, and from July 2015 to December 2018 he also assisted Bernard Casoni, Ferenc Horváth, Henning Berg and Marko Nikolics as assistant coach. After Casoni's departure, he took charge of Vidi in 8 matches (6 league matches and 2 Europa League qualifiers) between 19th August and 6th October 2015 until the arrival of Ferenc Horváth. He went from Székesfehérvár to Paks, where he assisted Aurél Csertői as a scout, and then took over the management of the Veszprém football team, which was then still playing in the County I, at the start of the 2018/2019 season. Tamás Pető spent a total of six years there, during which time he won two league titles and three bronze medals with his team and led Veszprém to the threshold of the NB II, finishing the 2023/2024 season in third place in the North-Western Group of NB III.

Tamás Pető's coaching staff is in the process of being finalised, and of course we will inform our fans about this next week.
