Goals from young pair Sejben and Acs together with a Feczesin double help Vidi to 4-0 win.
Vidi kicked off their league cup group stage with a match at home to second division side FC Ajka. There was a total of nine players away on international duty (Juhász, Nikolics, Gyurcsó, Kovács, Heffler, Szolnoki, Kleinheisler, Álvarez and Stopira.) Manager Joan Carrillo was not able to call on any of them, having to rely instead on the young players, who he gave the chance to show what they can do. There were two Vidi II players in the starting eleven, with Dominique Vallejos, who also played and scored in the Hungarian cup match at Testveriseg and Viktor Sejben.
There was a chance right at the start of the match, when Sandor got possession of the ball on the half way line, before finding Vallejos with a long ball to the wing. The youngster showed skill to shoot at goal from 14 meters, although keeper Tulipan produced a good save. The rebound fell to Feczesin, but both his shots were blocked by a visiting defender. Vidi were awarded a penalty after 16 minutes after Oliveira was fouled inside the box. Trebotic collected the ball and took the resulting spot kick, although Tulipan made a save to keep the score at 0-0.
Fejes fed Feczesin on 25 minutes, and the left back received the ball back, taking the ball to the goal line and crossing the ball in to the middle for Sejben to pounce from 5 meters, with the help of the post, to give Vidi a 1-0 lead. Videoton increased their lead virtually 10 minutes later. Fejes passed to Zsolt Nagy, who curled a first time shot towards goal, with Feczesin arriving at the far post to slide in and make it 2-0. The 37th minute saw Oliveira cross for Sandor to strike a good volley at keeper Tulipan, who did well to save.
The visiting manager made four changes at half-time, but the shape of the game remained unchanged. Good link up play on 63 minutes ended with Vallejos crossing to the centre for Feczesin to connect with and make it 3-0 to Vidi. Several players were given the chance towards the end of this cup match. Vidi II midfielder Acs came on, as did U21 players Peter Valkovszki and Bertalan Veninger, who had also played for the Vidi second team on Sunday.
The last goal of the game came on 88 minutes when Adam Acs found the back of the net, after Feczesin found himself with a chance, but his shot was blocked by Tulipan, with the rebound falling to Feczesin again, whose shot was heading in, before Acs made contact with the ball to make it 4-0. Videoton will play their second league cup match in two weeks time against second division leaders Vasas. There is a Hungarian cup match to play before then. That game will be at the home of third division side Rakosmente KSK on the 10th September with a 15:30pm kick off.
