Match Report: Puskas and Videoton share a 0-0 draw

There were no goals at the Pancho Arena on Saturday as the two sides played out a 0-0 draw.

Videoton FC played their fourth OTP league game of the year on Saturday. The opponents were the Puskas Academy, but this time it was Vidi that were the visiting side. Videoton have never lost to the Felcsut side in previous matches over the short history. Attila Pinter was missing loan striker Ezekiel Henty, who is serving a suspension for an earlier sending off.

There was a first league start in Videoton colours for Szabolcs Huszti, who was in the side in place of Boban Nikolov. Another change to the last league starting eleven saw Istvan Kovacs replace Mate Patkai as the sides kicked off. The first chance of the game had Lazovic cross for Marko Scepovic to arrive and just send the ball over. Another effort in the first few moments ended with Hegedus clearing ahead of Marko.

Although Vidi enjoyed more of the ball, the next chance only came on 15 minutes: Stefan almost took the ball down the left but Poor intercepted to deny him. Hadzic then flicked a Huszti corner towards Stefan who did not make a clear contact with the ball from 7 meters out. Fiola got hold of the ball on 20 minutes inside the Puskas half, before playing it wide to Stefan, who crossed towards Fiola, who raced into the box, but he failed to connect with it.

There was still 25 minutes on the clock when a corner rebounded back to Nego, who from 17 meters shot powerfully over. The action continued with a handball inside the Puskas box not being awarded a penalty by the match official. A Lazovic shot flew over the goal after 35 minutes, before Puskas Academy had their own chance with Knezevic crossing for Hegedus to head over. The final chance of the first period saw an unmarked Rado have the ball in front of him, but Stopira produced a lovely tackle to clear ahead of the forward.

Diallo replaced Rado at the break. Then Vidi suffered an injury to Anel Hadzic after 56 minutes. He received treatment but was stretchered off moments later. The midfielder was replaced by another in the form of Mate Patkai. Perosevic almost connected with the ball after 63 minutes, but Kovacsik raced out well to clear the danger. The biggest chance for Puskas came on 69 minutes when Diallo broke into the box on the left, and he found Trajkocski, who from close range shot, but Kovacsik reacted well to palm away the effort. The ball eventually found Perosevic who shot low, but again the Videoton keeper was well placed to save.

Stopira had a shot that went across goal after 72 minutes but the score remained at 0-0. Trajkovski almost found Diallo for Puskas on 75 minutes while Nikolov came on to replace Kovacs with 10 minutes remaining.

There was 6 minutes of injury time added on by the referee. That allowed time for chances at both ends. Stopira saw his shot fly over the bar towards the end, while Lazovic crossed for Marko Scepovic to connect with, but he could not find the shot on goal. The final whistle blew and the two sides shared a point each. Ferencvaros drew their derby game at Ujpest 0-0, which means that the gap at the top between first and second remains 3 points.
