Match Report: No points at the home of DVTK

Vidi suffered a 2-1 loss in Miskolc on Wednesday. The home side scored a last minute winner.

Videoton were in OTP league action on Wednesday evening at the home of DVTK. Diosgyőr went into the game having picked up a point away at Ferencvaros on Saturday. Vidi had last played in Miskolc in August, when they came from a goal down to score two injury time goals to win 2-1.

The teams started the game with caution, with the first real chance of the match coming after 17 minutes. A low cross in from the left was met in the middle by Okuka, who brought a good save out of Vidi keeper Kovacsik. The action continued with another DVTK move minutes later. Koman curled a free kick in from 19 meters, which went over the bar. Vidi also pressed forward and Stopira found himself with a good chance on goal, but Rados was equal to it and he denied the left back. Vinicius and Bacsa clashed inside the box after 31 minutes, which referee Solymosi judged as a penalty. Barczi stood behind the ball and found the bottom right corner, although Kovacsik judged the right side, but could not keep it out (1-0).

The reply from Videoton came fast and just before half time. Haraszti stood behind a free kick on 42 minutes. His ball in to the middle was controlled by Nego, before the right back scored from 10 meters as he found the bottom right corner! (1-1).

Barczi had the first chance of the second half when he found keeper Kovacsik in the right place. A big chance was then missed after 56 minutes: Oliveira released Suljic with a lovely ball, and the Bosnian pulled the ball beside keeper Rados, before shooting low, but the Diosgyőr keeper recovered to pull off a fine save. It was all about Videoton keeper Kovacsik, who then enjoyed the limelight in the minutes that followed. The 3,300 crowd inside the Miskolc stadium witnessed good keeping skills from the goalkeeper who only recently replaced the injured Danilovics. He first collected a Bacsa cross, and then denied the same player from close range. Oliveira tried his best at the other end with his crossing, but the ball did not find anyone in the middle.

Nikhazi looked to be in a goalscoring opportunity after 84 minutes, but again Vidi had to thank Kovacsik who again pulled off a fine stop. He saved a close range shot from the home midfielder. Manjrekar then sent a powerful shot towards the top left corner, but Kovacsik again saved very well. It looked as if the points would be shared as the match entered injury time. However, Lang lost possession inside his own box, and Elek was quick to steal the ball and provide Novothny with a good pass, who made no mistake from 14 meters. (2-1).

There was no change to the scoreline with DVTK winning the match. Vidi remain in third place in the table with 37 points. That is the same amount as both Ujpest and MTK. Videoton are next in action in Felcsut on Saturday with a game against Bekescsaba.
