Match Report: Another confident win for Vidi

Goals from Oliveira, Sandor and Nikolics gave Vidi another home win following the 3-0 win over Papa last week.

Videoton met Dunaujvaros for the first time in 11 years in the second weekend of the OTP league season. Today's match was also Brachi's 50th league appearance in a Vidi shirt.

Two on loan Vidi players were in the starting line-up for today's opponents. Defender Adrian Szekeres and Donat Zsoter faced their parent club. The visitors started the match on the attack, although they could not create any real chance on the Vidi goal. It was the home team that had the first real effort of the game, when Juhasz laid on the ball to Sandor after 11 minutes, who shot at goal but it was blocked. Nikolics had a quick chance shortly after as he shot over the bar. The opening goal arrived in the 19th minute: Kleinheisler released Oliveira with a lovely ball, and the Portuguese player made no mistake as he calmly found the back of the net. (1-0).

Zsoter shot from the left a couple minutes later, but his strike just went wide of the far post. Nikolics found himself with a chance, but keeper Gergely Nagy bravely saved his deflected shot from close range. Zsoter had time for another chance on goal shortly before half time. Calatayud was on hand to deal with it. Vidi just failed to get their second goal: Nikolics had the ball and took it away from the keeper, and from a tight angle cut the ball back to Sandor, whose powerful low shot, deflected off a defender. Videoton went in at the break with a 1-0 advantage.

Nikolics did really well on 56 minutes to find Sandor, and the midfielder placed his shot in to the back of the net. (2-0). Calatayud saved a Petnehazi free kick after the second goal, tipping the ball away from the bottom left corner. The supporters were back on their feet minutes later, when Gyurcso received a good pass, and he aimed for the far post, but keeper Nagy parried his shot, and the alert Nikolics pounced in front of goal to make it 3-0. It was Niko's 7th goal in 6 matches so far this summer, including the pre-season friendlies. He now stands on 98 goals in first division matches.

Dunaujvaros continued to come forward, but they did not have the power to get in behind the Vidi defence, while Videoton calmly played football with a three goal lead. Nikolics set up Brachi on 71 minutes, who hit a right footed shot wide of the post. The 79th minute resulted in an Alvarez free kick being hit low to the centre, which was met by Sandor, whose left foot went wide of the target. Kleinheisler had a shot on goal in injury time, but there were no further goals. Vidi won their second league match of the season with another 3-0 win.
