The two managers spoke to the media shortly after the final whistle.
Marko Nikolic:
I would like to congratulate Ferencvaros, who deserved to win. In big games, the side that wants it more usually wins it. This is how it was today. We made many mistakes and gifted the home side many chances around our box. They managed to take advantage of this. We passed the ball to our opponents. There were periods when we could not get out and you cannot make so many errors. We battled better in the second half. It was a good match played in a good footballing atmosphere. I would like to thank the supporters that came out to support us in such big numbers. We are still in top place thanks to a better goal difference. We would like to remain there following our final league match of the autumn in Szombathely. That will be our 30th game of the season. Our squad is not big enough. We need to use the winter transfer window to freshen things up and to bring in new players.
Thomas Doll:
We saw a passionate Ferencvaros side out there on the pitch today. I am very proud of the players. Everything that we discussed during the week was achieved. The lads carried out all that was asked of them. I love it when the players have passion. I thought that our defending and attacking was fine in the first half. Vidi put us under pressure in the second period and attacked with 3-4 players. We knew that they would leave open spaces for us to attack into. We ran a lot and it was important that Moutari was able to come on and play. I cannot pick out anyone as the whole team played really well. We had good attacks and scored nice goals. Without being arrogant, we totally deserved this win. I am pleased that we have caught up with Vidi ahead of the winter break. It would have been good to have had the supporters fill up the sector behind the goal. The team deserves to play in a good atmosphere. That was the only negative of the evening.
