The Videoton manager shared his thoughts ahead of the important second leg game at the Pancho Arena on Thursday evening.
"The first game from a psychological point of view was not an easy game. There were problems before the match in the form of suspensions and the injuries that we picked up during the 90 minutes. However, we still came closest to winning the match and perhaps we could have won. It is a positive aspect that we have not conceded a goal now for four matches and there were hardly any real big chances created against us. I have been managing for a while now and I can say that in such important games as this, it can happen that the football is not the best. At times like this it is the small fine detail that is very important. We cannot afford to make even the smallest mistake. We need to be tactically perfect from the first to the final minute. I still think what I said before the first game, which is that both sides has a 50-50 chance of going through. I still do not think that it is such a special thing that some of us have to play against our former club. The media in both countries have focused plenty on this, and the game has become bigger perhaps because of this. We achieved good success four months ago at Partizan and we love the club, but this is life and now we are fighting for the success of Vidi against the black and whites. The prize is big and it is our dream to make the group stage! I would not like to compare this second leg with Partizan with that of the return match against Bordeaux. That is the past and football is about the present and the future. Naturally that is a lovely memory but this will be a different game. We have not practiced penalty's, but I have inside my head those players that would take it if it came to it. In games like this, they say that you do not have to play, but you have to win! We have prepared well for the second game, perhaps even better than we did for the first leg. We are ready for the return leg" - commented manager Marko Nikolic to the media.
