Marko Nikolic: I did not feel enough energy in the team

The two managers shared their thoughts on Thursday's EL match at the Pancho Arena.

Marko Nikolic:

This was not such a good match for us. I felt a little bit that the player just gave enough from themselves that was sufficient to go through. You cannot play like this at a big club. There were some changes to the starting line-up and that continued in the game. I wanted to rest some players for the weekend league match. I also wanted to give a couple of other players some match time and to see how they perform. I did not feel enough energy within the team. We did have some chances but overall it was not such a good evening for the supporters. The games with Bordeaux will be totally different for sure. As a manager I really do feel that we can spring a surprise against a big European side. We will need to play better to do this and only for ourselves but for Hungarian football. Unfortunately we are the only remaining Hungarian team in European competition.

Szergej Francev:

We got in to a big deficit in the first leg, which meant that our opponents only had to do what was needed on the pitch. You can understand this as they have important games in the league. I do not want to go into how much chance Videoton FC will have against the French side. This should be my colleague's job and I have my own. I would like to wish them the best of luch in the competition and honestly say that they have been great hosts. We felt really good here in Hungary.
