Both managers spoke about the match shortly after the final whistle.
José Gomes: "I gave those players the chance in today's match who have had limited time on the pitch in the league. The reason for this is to give those players who have played more games in the first division suitable rest time. I always send my teams out in an attacking spirit, and it is important that this does not mean that all of the players should go up to attack. There were periods where we lost our balance when defending, while Pecs hit very dangerous counter attacks against us. Part of this was down to certain defenders slipping on the pitch when Pecs were counter attacking, which created a man advantage for the home side. There were very good solutions, and also very big mistakes in the match. The most important is that no one got injured, and I was able to rest those players who played on Sunday evening against Győr.
Lőrincz Emil: "My team was mainly made up of young players, and they played sensationally well in the first 60 minutes, and we could have led the game by several goals. Videoton FC took advantage of a mistake and levelled the score. By the end of the match with the exception of two players, my team was made up of our U21 side. I can honestly say that the performance of my players surprised me. I am also clear with the fact that Videoton are currently in the middle of a bad run, and the young players did not get a chance to perform in the match by accident. I will say once again that I was surprised with the excellent performance from my lads. I take my hat off to them."
