The Vidi manager shares his thoughts ahead of Saturday's game away at Ujpest.
Vidi kick off the second half of the OTP league season at the home of Ujpest on Saturday evening. We go into the game in second place and hoping to repeat the good home performance against them earlier in the season. That ended in a 5-1 win with the goals coming from Stopira, Funsho, Zivzivadze, Nikolov and Rostovski (own goal). We spoke to manager Gabor Marton ahead of the match:
Gabor Marton:
"We are well prepared following our pre-season. The results of the friendly matches show that we also stand our ground against the higher ranked opponents on paper. The second half of the season begins on Saturday as we have three matches in a week. So far, two new players have joined the team with Palko Dardai and Arpad Tordai arriving. Strengthening the squad serves the purpose of being able to rotate players properly, rotation will be extremely important during the spring season. We definitely need to improve the balance of the team, it won’t be good to allow us to lose points in winning matches. We need to move forward in the spring, we need to show that we are capable of performing at a consistently higher level. In the match against Ujpest, we will enter the pitch with the hope of victory, we have to win the match."
