Four goal win at the home of Paks

Vidi produced a very good performance and scored four goals at Paks

Vidi were in league action on Saturday following their midweek Hungarian cup success over Vac. A trip to Paks in the OTP league stood in the way of Marko Nikolic and his team. The opponents went into the game in the best form in the NB I. Paks had collected 12 points from their last 5 league game. League leader FTC have picked up 10 points over the same period while Vidi have managed 7 points. Marko Nikolic had to do without Marko Scepovic and Anel Hadzic following the disciplinary result in connection with the game at Puskas Academy.

Vidi started the match well and although they did not carve out a dangerous chance in the opening minutes, it was Vidi that directed things out on the pitch with plenty of possession of the ball. The visiting side were happy to wait for the chance to arrive and it duly did after 18 minutes. Patkai found Hodzic, with the forward returning the ball to Patkai, who controlled the ball and aimed for the left corner from 14 meters (0-1). The midfielder has been in great form lately and he has now scored in the last 3 league games.

Remili tried to put in a dangerous cross on 22 minutes, but Juhasz did well to slide in and clear the danger. Just five minutes later and Milanov sent in a ball from the left into the middle, which Balo tried to clear, but he could not connect and Nego was waiting behind him. He calmly beat Racz and passed the ball into the back of the net from close range (0-2). It was also the second consecutive game that Nego has scored having most recently found the net against Kisvarda. Things became even better shortly after. Huszti sent a free kick onto the box after 35 minutes, which fell kindly to Hodzic, who from close range made no mistake (0-3).

The Bosnian forward scored his first Vidi goal in the midweek cup win and now it was the turn for his first in the NB I. The first half ended with a chance from Paks player Hahn, but Kovacsik watched as it went wide of the goal.

The second half started with a chance for Vidi. Hodzic turned and played in Nego, who shot at the keeper, with Racz doing well to save the effort. The 56th minute resulted in the score increasing by a four goal margin. Nego battled and played the ball to Hodzic, who played in onto the unmarked Patkai. The midfielder did the rest and the score became 0-4. Patkai's four goals means that he is joint top goalscorer with Marko Scepovic for Vidi this season.

Nikolov sent a powerful shot at goal from 23 meters after 64 minutes and the ball smacked the bar. Substitute Kovacs had a chance in the closing stages, while Hodzic could have scored another goal, but the result did not change. Vidi picked up a high scoring away win at the home of Paks, who are never easy to beat.

The next match will be on Thursday in the Europa League group stage when PAOK are the visitors.
