Five interesting points ahead of the home league game with Mezokovesd

MOL Vidi FC take on Mezokovesd in the OTP league on Saturday evening.

MOL Vidi FC beat Ferencvaros 2-1 away in the Hungarian Cup on Wednesday. Now the attention switches to the OTP league on Saturday and a home game with Mezokovesd. We take a look at 5 points of interest ahead of the match.

Kovácsik can reach Alves and Caneira

Adam Kovácsik has so far made 121 appearances for Vidi and his 122nd could come against Mezokovesd. He will reach three former key players on Saturday. Top goalscorer from the 2010-11 season was Andre Alves (who was with Saturday's opponents until leaving them in the winter) and Marco Caneira, and former club President Imre Derfalvi who all played 122 games for Vidi.

What team will Mezokovesd put out?

Szappanos - Vadnai, Pillár, Katanec, Silye - Szeles, Meskhi - Cseri, Bertus, Molnár G. - Koszta

Dombó - Eperjesi, Hudák, Szalai, Vajda - Tóth B., Iszlai - Pekár, Tóth M., Moutari - Dragóner

The first side played against Debrecen in their most recent league game while the latter featured in the Hungarian Cup against the same opponents. Manager Attila Kuttor changed his entire side for the midweek cup game. Recent games suggest the first side will be the more likely!

Returning goalscorer

Mezokovesd goalscoring pair Gabor Molnar and Stefan Drazic were both injured recently and had to miss games. However, the signs are that they have recovered after coming on as substitutes in the midweek cup match with Debrecen.

Nego and Pillár series

It is not unusual for a keeper to play in each league game, but the same cannot always be said about outfield players. This weekend will see two such players come face-to-face as ever presents in the league. Loic Nego looks likely to continue his impressive run as could the opponents central defender Robert Pillar.

Stopira, Vinícius and Kovács

The first ever league game with Mezokovesd was back in season 2013-14 in the first division. The two had never before met leading upto that game, which was played on the 8th November 2013. A winning goal in the 87th minute earned Vidi the 3 points.

There were three players in that game that could feature this Saturday for Vidi: Stopira, Vinicius and Kovacs could be in the starting line-up. That first game in 2013 saw Vidi managed by Jose Gomes and he played the following team: Calatayud - Mamadu (Kleinheisler, 67.), Tar (Zé Luís, 53.), Vinícius, Stopira - Sándor (Torghelle, 17.), Vítor Gomes - Gyurcsó, Kovács, Nildo - Nikolics.
