NEW CONTRACT

Contract extension for keeper Martin Dala

Our goalkeeper, who won the NB II title on loan last season, is preparing for the new season with our team.

Our club has extended the contract with Martin Dala, who returned from his loan spell in Nyíregyháza last week to start his preparations for the new season.
The 2004-born goalkeeper has been a Vidi player since 2014, when he was ten years old. He won the national league title with our U14 team in 2018, made his debut for our NB III team in 2020 at the age of 16 and also made his debut for the Hungarian U17 national team in 2021. In the 2021/2022 season, he played six league games for our first team in the NB I, in the 2022/2023 season he was a starter for our second team, and he also regularly featured in the NB I squad. He spent last season on loan at the title winning and promoted Nyíregyháza Spartacus FC, where he started 17 games.

"It's great that the club is counting on me for the long term and we have extended my contract. My goal last season was to move up a level in senior football and gain a lot of experience, but I can say that my expectations were exceeded by the season we have had, as we have had an almost perfect season. I feel that I have learnt a lot, improved a lot and had a lot of success. We worked with a strong goalkeeping team and I had to fight for my place in the team. I had a good time in Nyíregyháza, but I'm happy to be back in Fehérvár and to have thrown myself into the job last week. There are a lot of familiar faces, I played with a lot of the young players in the youth team, and I also knew the new staff and our new goalkeeper coach from before. I have worked with Ferenc Hegedüs since I was a little boy, with some interruptions, and I made my debut in the NB III under his goalkeeping coaching, so I am happy to work with him. Balázs Tóth and Dániel Veszelinov were not my teammates before, but from the first day we trained together as if we had known each other for a long time. We have a good cohesion, we work smoothly, I am sure that we will be able to work together with them in the long term," Martin Dala told our website after signing his new deal.
