"It wasn't our day but we will carry on working"

Paulo Sousa saw his side go out of the Hungarian cup at the semi-final stage

Garami József: Vidi began the game very well, doing amazing things on the pitch over the first 20 minutes. We managed not to concede any goals during this period, and then we went on to have a say in the game. I told my players before the game, that there would be moments in the match, where we could win the game. These moments came and we were able to score goals. My team were very strong mentally today. We were put under lots of pressure in the final 20 minutes, but once again we did not concede. My team battled well throughout, which will give us strength in the games to come. I hope that once we have our injured players back, then our game will improve further. I would also like to congratulate Videoton on what I saw over the two games, but I am delighted that we have gone through.

Paulo Sousa: I would like to congratulate MTK, their players and their manager Jozsef Garami, at the way they played and for reaching the final. Just as Jozsef Garami said, he hoped that there would be moments during the game, when they would come at us, and this happened, creating three serious chances, and they scored from these. I cannot say anything bad about my players, as they fought throughout the game, and gave the maximum they had, and we had chances in all areas of the pitch, but we did not manage to score from these. On the occasions that we did get through, the officials flagged for offside. We tried to change things, going with three defenders at the back, so that we could attack more, and we also changed things around in midfield. We had no luck and today was not our day. Every team has times in their lifes when they lose games, and we had ours today at the worst time. We did not succeed in making it into the cup final, although our aim is to win all games. We did not manage, but I hope that my players are strong enough to get over this situation. Our task now is to remain strong and go onwards, and grow as a club, and the team need to become stronger all the time. Finally, I would like to once again congratulate MTK, and wish them lots of luck in the final.
