The 22-year-old Csongvai, who can also play as a defender and midfielder, was born on the 31st October 2000 in Budapest. He was raised in the youth team of Vasas between 2010 and 2016, then he was signed by Újpest, where he first played in the U17 and U19 teams, then in Újpest II. Between the summer 2019 and January 2020 he played on loan in Vác, then after his return he made his debut in the first division against Debrecen.

The 186 cm tall player appeared in ten league games in his first half-season in the NB I, and in the next two and a half years he was a regular for the purple and white side, where he has played in 87 NB I games, scoring five goals and assisting five goals. At the end of the 2020/2021 season, he celebrated a MOL Hungarian Cup victory with his team. In the summer of 2021, he made his international debut in the qualifying round of the Europa Conference League, where he played in three matches. In September 2021, he made his debut for the Hungarian U21 national team, where he played in eight matches. In the 2022/2023 season, he was the captain of the Újpest team.
