Rúben Pinto was born on the 24th April 1992 in Arroja. At the age of 12, he joined Benfica's youth team, where he progressed to the reserve team and made 59 appearances in the Portuguese second division. In 2015, he was loaned to Paços Ferreira, where he played 16 matches. The next stage of his career was Belenenses, where he also played in the group stage of the EL with the Portuguese team. He made 65 appearances for the Portuguese youth national team, scoring 11 goals.

In recent years, he played football in Bulgaria for CSKA Sofia. In total, he has played 114 official matches in Bulgaria and was one of the vice-captains of the team, wearing the armband on 10 occasions. Together with Vidi summer signing Evandro, he played 33 matches for CSKA Sofia. His contract expired in Bulgaria in the summer, he arrived at Vidi as a free transfer and is wearing the number 21 shirt
