We visit the home of ninth-placed DVSC on Saturday night

On Saturday evening at 19:30 at the Nagyerdei Stadium in Debrecen we will play against the 9th place team of the OTP Bank Liga NB I. DVSC are coached by Joan Carrillo, who won the title with Vidi in 2015. 

Our opponent has 7 points in the last five rounds. They defeated Paks 1-0 away and Gyirmót 3-1 at home, drew 0-0 with ZTE, while FTC, who won their fourth consecutive title, beat them 3-0 at home and Kisvárda, currently in second place, 1-0. 

In the autumn, we played Loki, still managed by the Toldi-Huszti coaching duo, to a 1-1 draw away from home (Kodro equalised in the 92nd minute), and in the spring Joan Carrillo was already on the bench for DVSC when they beat us 2-1 at the MOL Arena Sósto.  

The head coach of Vidi against DVSC both times this season was Imre Szabics, so with Michael Boris in charge, we will play Loki for the first time on Saturday night - and our head coach has never played in a league match against Debrecen before, because when he was the coach of MTK in the NB II, DVSC was in the top league, and when MTK was promoted to the top league, Loki were relegated..

However, in last year's Hungarian Cup quarter-final, DVSC hosted MTK under Michael Boris and the blue-and-whites won 2-1 at the Nagyerdei Stadium. Interestingly, in the next round - the semi-final - it was Vidi who beat MTK. 

Practically nothing changed in the winter, only two players arrived and one left.

The team's most successful player is Roland Ugrai with 10 goals, but Joan Carrillo will not be able to play him on Saturday night due to a pulled abdominal - reported the official website of DVSC. However, several former Vidi players could be in the squad. József Varga was a 2018 champion in red-blue, Ádám Bódi and Bence Sós were members of our silver medal-winning squads, while Zsombor Bévárdi played in two Hungarian Cup matches for our team at the age of 17.
