NIKOLA SERAFIMOV

"We fought together and followed the game plan"

Our defender underlined the importance of a clean sheet after beating Ferencváros.

"We prepared for this game as we did for the other games of the season. The head coach asked us to be brave and sharp from the first minute and try to lead dangerous counter attacks. In the first 15-20 minutes Ferencváros dictated a high tempo, but after that we calmed down and played better. At half time we made some tactical changes in terms of attacking. The head coach said that we will definitely have chances up front, but the most important thing is to finish the game without conceding a goal. We scored our goal from a free kick, as we have done several times this season, it's one of our strengths and we were able to exploit it again. In the Groupama Arena, all teams play a bit defensive, because we know how strong Fradi is. Luckily we managed to go down without conceeding a goal, but it's not just the defenders and the goalkeeper, the midfielders and the forwards also helped us to achieve this. Congratulations to the whole team, there was a very high level of concentration in almost 100 minutes. We fought together and followed the game plan, which helped us to win the match. After three wins in the league, I'm naturally more confident going into the national team break, where it's also very important for me to play. I am happy to have been invited again. We have two tough opponents, Italy and England, but we have shown in the past that we can play well against anyone, so I hope we can collect points with the national team again." - Nikola Serafimov told our website after the win over Ferencváros.
