Videoton were 2-0 down at half-time, but a consolation goal from the penalty spot by Feczesin means that there is all to play for in the return leg on the 9th December.
The main pitch at the Dunaujvaros stadium was unsuitable to play on due to the heavy rain over recent days. The league cup first leg match was switched to the nearby astroturf. The game kicked off with the temperature at the 3c mark on Tuesday at 13:00pm.
The home side took a free kick on the edge of the area after 2 minutes, with the ball going over to the far post for the arriving Gavric to volley it first time on to the bar. Oliveira went down the right a couple of minutes later with his cross being cleared by Szalai ahead of Feczesin. Heffler then laid the ball on for Simon, who from 24 meters hit the ball over with a right foot shot. There was little action in front of goal in the following quarter hour: Dodlek tried to cross from the right, but the ball ended up towards the near post and in the back of the net (1-0).
Goalscorer Dodlek then hit a free kick over on 29 minutes, before a 35th minute Trebotic pass, which ended with Daniel saving a shot from Kleinheisler. There were further chances towards the end of the first half, with first Feczesin hitting a high ball in towards goal, which Daniel collected in the home goal. Pajac then saw his cross hit the post. A corner then ended with the ball at Simon, who hit an effort against the crossbar from 6 meters. The home side then extended their lead right on half time: Muscat Rowen scored following a back bass ahead of Horvath. (2-0).
Feczesin then scored after a 50th minute Brachi free kick, but the match official blew for a foul, and the goal was disallowed. Kleinheisler then hit a ball to the unmarked Pakac, who shot first time with his left foot, but it was blocked by Szalai. Orosz then brought the ball forward for the home team on 64 minutes, and his left foot strike found the post. Feczesin went down the right after 71 minutes, and hit a right foot shot wide from 17 meters out. Pajac then had a sharp left footed shot 6 minutes later, which just ended up ahead of the arriving players and out for a throw. Vidi piled on the pressure but the home side defended well. Kovacs then released Feczesin on 84 minutes, and the forward took the ball wide of the keeper, but Daniel made contact and the referee blew for a penalty. The forward picked himself up and converted the spot kick to make it 2-1. That was Feczesin's eighth goal in the league cup this season.
There was no change to the scoreline in the remaining minutes, with Dunaujvaros securing a 2-1 first leg lead to take in to the second leg next week at the Sostoi. Vidi will face Dunaujvaros again on Saturday in the OTP league, before the 2nd leg next Tuesday.
