Debrecen suffered a defeat at the hands of Pecs on Sunday afternoon, which meant that three points for Videoton at the Sostoi over MTK, would see them top the OTP league table. With the international break happening next week and with the mouth watering away league match at Debrecen next up, the result would have a big impact on things at the top end of the league table.

Kleinheisler sent in a free kick, which saw MTK defender Kalnoki putting the ball past his own keeper. Things got even better for Videoton as they went further ahead. Vukmir made a mistake, which resulted in Alvarez heading towards goal, before showing great unselfishness to role the ball to his left, for Nikolics to put the ball into the empty goal and make it 2-0. The goal came close to the half time whistle and gave Vidi a comfortable cushion in the match. It was also the 8th goal from Niko so far this season.

There was still time for more action just before half time as Horvath saw his effort go just wide for MTK, who refused to give up. The match official blew for half time and Vidi went it with a two goal lead. Sandor had a chance in the early moment of the second half, while MTK player Ladanyi hit the post. Kleinheisler also had a shot as the action kept on coming for the crowd inside the Sostoi. The teams took turns to attack each other, but there were no more real efforts of note. MTK tried hard to score a consolation goal, which would have brought them back into the game. At the same time Vidi kept pushing forward in search of more goals.

New signing Nildo came on for his debut appearance in the 66th minute, and he showed some nice touches in the remaining minutes of the game. There was an additional 4 minutes of injury time before referee Tamas Bognar blew for full time. Nemanja Nikolics now heads the goalscoring table and the three points picked up also mean that Vidi head into the break looking down on all the others in the league table.
