Vidi make it into the last 8 with a 4-0 aggregate win

MOL Vidi FC beat Taksony 3-0 at the MOL Arena Sosto on Wednesday to make it through to the next round of the Hungarian Cup.

MOL Vidi FC were in Hungarian Cup action on Wednesday evening with the visit of NB III side Taksony SE. The first leg a week ago was played in Dunaharaszti and ended in a 1-0 win thanks to a goal from Armin Hodzic. It was Vidi's first Hungarian Cup match at the new Sosto stadium after a period of 1197 days. 

Manager Marko Nikolic named Anel Hadzic, Zsombor Berecz, Armin Hodzic and Stopira in his starting line-up compared to a week ago. 

First half - 3 goal lead within 42 minutes

The first big chance arrived on 9 minutes. The move started on the right with Hodzic playing in Berecz, who back heeled it to Huszti, with the midfielder playing it back in front of Hodzic, but the forward hit a shot wide of the left post from 15 meters. A good cross from the left on 17 minutes from Huszti was headed at goal by Futacs, but keeper Ivancsics saved it. 

Nikolov shot with his left foot from the right wing after 25 minutes, which Ivancsics punched away. A free kick shortly after from 17 meters saw Huszti stand behind the ball. He sent a good shot into the bottom of the net to make it 1-0. 

Hodzic sent a dangerous shot just wide of the goal four minutes later as Vidi continued to put the pressure on their visitors. The corner that followed was headed by Futacs straight at keeper Ivancsics. Hangya switched pace on 31 minutes and played the ball to Huszti, whose shot was blocked in front of goal. 

Vidi extended their lead on the night to 2-0 and 3-0 on aggregate after 32 minutes. A one two between Hadzic and Juhasz ended with the Bosnian midfielder curling a wonderful shot into the bottom corner 2-0. Mate Szilagyi tried with a shot after 37 minutes, but keeper Tujvel got down to save. Hadzic played the ball in front of Hodzic moments later, with the forward shooting over from 25 meters. The score became 3-0 before half time. Hodzic took the ball towards the Taksony defence, before playing a neat one-two with Nikolov. The ball eventually found its way to the left where Huszti was waiting to shoot low and score his second. 

There were no more chances in the first half and Vidi went into the break with the score at 3-0. Milanov and Pataki came on to replace Huszti and Hadzic.

Second half - Vidi protect their lead to make it through to the next round

The pressure continued in front of the Taksony goal with the first chance arriving after 55 minutes when Milanov crossed to Futacs, but he could not direct his effort at goal as it was blocked. The resulting corner ended with Berecz shooting from 18 meters, but it rebounded off  a defender and ended in the back of the net, but it was flagged offside. The game was an hour old when a good move ended with Hodzic on the ball on the edge of the box, but he shot over following pressure from a defender. Toth chased for the ball two minutes later together with Juhasz, and he took the ball towards goal before shooting over from a tight angle. 

Hodzic lifted a ball back in after it was headed out, which was controlled by Nikolov, who from 8 meters shot just over the bar. A Nikolov free kick after 68 minutes was headed towards goal by Juhasz, but it was blocked and went out for a corner. The corner kick came in and Stopira connected with it from 6 meters, but without hitting the target. Nikolov then went on a 40 meters run, which beat 3-4 met before finding Nego, but the right back crossed into the middle where Berecz was waiting to hit a shot from 10 meters, which was saved by Ivancsics. 

Nikolov could have scored a goal towards the end. There was to be no further goals and MOL Vidi FC secured their place in the next round and the last eight with a 4-0 aggregate win.
