Videoton have great memories from the Ferenc Puskas stadium

Vidi came up against Ujpest in the final league match of the 2006 season. The game was played at the Ferenc Puskas stadium on the 3rd June 2006. Ujpest were preparing to win the league title for the first time since 1998. Interestingly Peter Varhidi's Ujpest team had secured the 1998 championship at the Sostoi.

The 2006 match in Budapest was played out in front of 13,000 supporters. Ujpest fans were in a party mood in the days leading up to the game. However, it was Videoton who ended up picking up all three points, while stopping the violets from winning the league title. The video below includes the match highlights and goals from the match.

Vidi were back at the old stadium 5 years later in the final of the Hungarian cup. KTE were the opponents that evening, with Tomiszlav Szivics' team eventually coming out on top by a 3-2 scoreline.
