A very important week lies in wait for Paulo Sousa and his Videoton side
UEFA Europa League, Group G - Match 5
Thursday 22nd November 2012. K.O.: 19:00pm: Videoton FC - KRC Genk
The most important game so far in this season's Europa League group stage takes place on Thursday. If Videoton manage to beat Genk, then they will progress through to the last 32 of the cup. The three points gained would make the result of the other match involving Basel and Sporting irrelevant. Progression through to the last 32 would also be an amazing fete for a Hungarian club. Genk currently lead the group with 8 points from second placed Vidi, who have 6 points. Basel are hot on the heels with 5 points, with Sporting bottom with 2 points. Another big European crowd is expected to turn out at the Sostoi stadium.
OTP Bank League Division One - Weekend 16
Sunday 25th November 2012. K.O.: 18:30pm: Lombard Pápa - Videoton FC
Videoton picked up a point at Pecs on Saturday evening to go level with third place Debrecen. Vidi will not have too much time to recover from Thursday's big Europa league game, with a trip south to Lombard Papa, who are always difficult to beat on their home pitch. New manager Gyula Zsivoczky has improved results slightly since taking over, and they have won three of their nine game since then. Papa did manage to steal a point from the Sostoi in the earlier league match, which ended 1-1.
