The two managers spoke to the press following the final whistle.
Imre Szabics:
“We are disappointed, as we wanted to start the year with a positive experience and result, but unfortunately we didn't manage to do that. We started well, we could have quickly taken the lead through Dárdai Palko's great position. After the first 15 minutes Puskás Akadémia became more dangerous, but we had more possession. We made changes in the second half, Dárdai and Lednev changed places, Bohdan had dangerous deep runs and we had three serious chances in the second half. We had four big chances in the whole game. In a match like this we have to be able to take one or two of them, and we have to improve in this in the future.”
Zsolt Hornyák:
“We were able to beat two difficult opponents in four days, which required an extra attitude from the team, because whoever stepped on the pitch was able to give their best. We dominated the first half, but our many crosses from the wing had no one on the end of them to finish. After the break, Vidi had the better of the game for 10 minutes, but then we were able to change, took the lead, held on to the 1-0 lead and with a bit of luck could have increased our lead. I commend the team for today's game, especially for their attitude, which helped us to get another important three points.”
