A goal towards the end was not enough as DAC won Saturday's friendly game.
The international break saw Vidi take advantage with a friendly at the MOL Arena against DAC. Marko Nikolic fielded the following side in Saturday's game: Horváth T. - Nego, Juhász, Vinícius, Tamás K. - Suljic, Hadzic, Varga J., Géresi - Henty, Scsepovic.
The game kicked off with the first chance coming on 10 minutes when Zsolt Kalmar hit a powerful free kick that was palmed away for a corner by keeper Horvath. Zivkovic hit the post 8 minutes later after being put through by Malec. The first goal arrived after 19 minutes when Malec pounced on a weak pass by Horvath, and he rolled the ball into the back of the empty net (1-0).
Ashiru went down the left wing after 24 minutes before finding Vida with the ball but the move did not result in a goal. The sides went in at the break with the home team leading by a single goal. The second half started with a chance for DAC after 47 minutes. Substitute Bence Mervo did well to slip in between the defenders, but his shot was kept out by Horvath. Ashiru played his way into a chance 5 minutes later, but his effort was kept out by the Vidi keeper, while Mervo had another chance.
A cross from Szolnoki on 61 minutes from the right ended with Scepovic flicking the ball on toward Nego, but the assistant referee flagged for offside. A frightening moment happened after 64 minutes when Mervo remained on the floor following a challenge. He remained motionless for a minute but finally rose to his feet as he left the pitch. Lazovic played the ball to Scepovic after 66 minutes, but one of the defenders managed to clear the danger for a corner. The resulting corner ended with Vinicius heading over the bar.
The home side doubled the lead after 71 minutes when Bajic played Divkovic through, and he elegently lifted the ball into the net (2-0). Nego's cross saw Lazovic head over 10 minutes later as the action continued. A mistake from a DAC defender saw Nego in with a chance on goal, but he could not find the finish. With 4 minutes left of play, Szolnoki started a move that found Lazovic, whose cross was converted into the back of the net by Scepovic to make it 2-1. The result remained unchanged as the referee blew for full time.
