A goal from Koszta in the second half gave the home side the three points.
Vidi travelled to Mezokovesd for the final game of the weekend on Sunday. Mate Patkai picked up 5 yellow cards and he was suspended for the game. Szabolcs Huszti and Georgi Milanov did not travel with the team. Roland Juhasz took his place on the subs bench, which meant that Attila Fiola partnered Paulo Vinicius in the middle of the defence. The latter wore the captains armband. The four mentioned players also meant that Szilveszter Hangya, Istvan Kovacs, Boban Nikolov and Armin Hodzic all started the match.
The opening minutes saw the ball mainly in the middle of the pitch. With 10 minutes played, Hodzic played a good ball to Scepovic, whose good chance on goal was saved by keeper Szappanos. The rebound fell to the feet of Kovacs, but his shot was also blocked by the keeper. The chances continued and Hadzic did well before hitting a left foot shot but that did not cause a problem to the home keeper. These chance woke up the home side. Molnar played a good ball through to Koszta, who broke towards goal, but he shot over when well placed. Vajda then sent a powerful shot at goal following a corner.
Kovacsik was called upon to race out of is goal and clear in the next chance, while Kovacs hit a shot from 20 meters, which rested in the arms of Szappanos. The 38th minute saw a cross from Stopira arrive at Nikolov, but he shot over from close range with the keeper not having anything to do. Cseri hit a 41st minute freekick, which rebounded off the wall, but Kovacsik did well to comfortably save the chance. The first half came to an end with a dangerous looking counter attack from Kovesd, but Vajda misplaced his pass and the half ended without any goals.
Neither manager made a change at half time as both sides ran out for the second period. Vidi had two good chances on 54 minutes. Kovacs had the first chance as his shot from 13 meters was hacked clear by a defender, before Hangya's cross from the right was flicked on by Scepovic to Stopira, but the left back sent his effort over the bar. Stopira was again involved after 60 minutes, but this time in front of his own goal as Vajda's shot was blocked. Vidi had a couple of corners within the space of a couple of minutes. Keeper Szappanos tipped a Nikolov corner away at the far post, before Stopira headed over. A promising Vidi attack was halted on 65 minutes and the counter attack from the home side saw Gabor Molnar play Koszta through, and he calmly made no mistake to find the corner of the net (1-0).
Nikolov sent a free kick from 18 meters into the wall after 69 minutes, while a minute later, the Macedonian midfielder hit a powerful shot from 25 meters, but it did not require a save from the Mezokovesd keeper. Juhasz replaced Nikolov after 75 minutes and the Vidi captain went up front to lend his support. A Berecz corner was headed over by Juhasz within a minute of coming on. Kovacs played in Anel Hadzic three minutes later, but just as he was about to cross, it bounced up and Szappanos collected the half chance. Gabor Molnar could have doubled the home sides lead after 79 minutes, but his shot from 8 meters went wide of the goal.
The final whistle blew and Mezokovesd picked up a 1-0 win. Vidi will take on Ujpest in their next home league game on the 21st November at their new Sostoi Stadium sitting in fourth place.
