Goals from Kenan Kodro and Ivan Petryak gave Vidi the three points.
In the 16th round of the OTP Bank League, our team played at MTK's home, in the New Hidegkuti Nándor Stadium on Saturday evening. Imre Szabics sent the following side out of: Kovács D. - Fiola, Lüftner, Stopira, Hangya- Petryak, Nego, Makarenko, Dárdai - Kodro, Nikolic.
The teams started at a good tempo, MTK had a chance in the first minute, then Petryak headed Hangya's cross towards the goal from five meters, but Somodi saved well. In the 10th minute, the home goalkeeper would have been helpless, but Petryak's corner was followed by a powerful shot from Stopira that went over the head of the former Vidi keeper, who made 5 League Cup appearances for the team between 2010 and 2013. Four minutes later, Makarenko's 18-metre low shot rolled past the left post, and another minute later Kodro fired wide, but it was no threat for the blue and whites. In the 21st minute, a nice attack gave us the lead! After Dárdai's cross, the defenders' attention was divided between Nikolics and Kodro, and the Bosnian striker, undisturbed by Somodi on the goal line, nodded into the net (0-1)!
Half an hour into the game, Ramadani took a shot from 25 metres out, as Kovács calmly watched the ball go over the goal. In the 40th minute, Niko sent a cross from Hangya towards goal, but one of the defenders blocked it and Nego tried to curl the rebound into the far post from 18 yards - he wasn't too far out. The scoreline remained unchanged in the second half and we went into the away dressing room with a one-goal lead after 45 minutes.
At the break Imre Szabics did not make a substitution, while Gábor Márton sent Kovácsréti on for Kocsis. The second half started with a shot from Nikolic, but Somodi saved the attempt. In the 53rd minute, a cross from the right was met by Miovski in the middle and he tried to slide the ball into the top far corner, but the home striker was off target. Four minutes later, Nikolic came very close to scoring his 111th league goal for Vidi, curling the ball inside from 18 yards towards the bottom right, Somodi was beaten but the ball rattled off the post. If you can say that after hitting a goalpost, in the 63rd minute Niko came even closer to scoring, but his close range shot was saved by Somodi, and the ball bounced in the wrong direction for us, so the blue and whites could clear. Niko and Hangya left the pitch soon after, with Budu Zivzivadze and Marcel Heister coming on for the last twenty minutes.
In the 76th minute, at the end of an MTK counterattack, the fans could see Kovácsréti's shoot from the left. Two minutes later, Stopira's header was much more dangerous, with him rising highest from Dárdai's free-kick, but Somodi got down nicely for a corner. In the 90th minute, Kata's 16-metre shot was well saved by Kovács, and at the very end of the four minutes of extra time, our Ukrainian winger scored after a nice combination between Zivzivadze and Petryak. The goal was not awarded immediately by the referee, because at the beginning of the attack, a suspected penalty situation inside our box was analysed in the VAR room, but it turned out that there was no foul, Petryak's goal was given, so we won 2-0 at the home of MTK.
The last league game of the year will be played against Mezőkövesd Zsóry FC in a week's time at the MOL Arena Sóstó.
