Mezőkövesd stuck with head coach Attila Kuttor for a long time, but in mid-February the experienced coach was sacked. His place was taken by Serbian Milan Milanovic, who has a record of four defeats (Mezőkövesd - Kisvárda 1-2, MTK - Mezőkövesd 3-1, Mezőkövesd - DVTK 1-2, Mezőkövesd - FTC 0-3), one draw (Újpest FC - Mezőkövesd 2-2) and one win (DVSC - Mezőkövesd 0-1).

The team has the same number of points as Kisvárda after 26 rounds, but as Kisvárda has one more win, they are 11th in the table. This, however, is a small consolation in that it is also a relegation spot. The advantage of 10th-placed ZTE over both teams has increased to 12 points in the previous round, which means that the situation of our opponents on Saturday is getting tougher.

Mezőkövesd's most successful player is Stefan Drazic with 10 goals.
