A first half penalty from Istvan Kovacs gave Vidi the lead, but Renhe levelled in the 90th minute.
Videoton played their first winter pre-season friendly on Saturday afternoon in the sunshine of Benidorm against Chinese outfit Renhe FC. Marko Nikolic went with the following starting eleven: Kovácsik – Nego, Juhász, Tóth Bence, Stopira – Pátkai, Réti, Anel Hadzic – Kovács István – Elvir Hadzic, Lazovics.
It was the Hungarian side that started the game more actively, although chances did not arrive early on. Keeper Zhang Lie, a Chinese international comfortably collected an 8th minute Lazovic free kick, while Ecuador forward Ayovi, headed over the goal a minute later.
It was Videoton who took the lead on 27 minutes when a shot from Istvan Kovacs was handled by a Chinese defender. The referee pointed at the spot and the midfielder calmly sent the ball into the back of the net from the resulting penalty. A pass forward from Nego found Lazovic, who elegantly connected with the ball from 14 meters, but it did not find the target.
There was no change to the score in the first half with Vidi leading by a single goal at the break. Tomás Tujvel, Fiola Attila, Mocsi Attila, Tamás Krisztián, Bolla Bendegúz and Szabó Bence all ran out for the second half to replace Kovacsik, Nego, Juhasz, Stopira and Anel Hadzic.
Tujvel was called into action on 59 minutes when he saved a shot from the bottom right corner. A pass from Elvir Hadzic after 66 minutes found Kovacs, whose effort went wide of the left post. A corner from Bence Szabo was flicked on at the near post by Elvir Hadzic, but the substitute keeper did well to deny him. Tujvel was again in the right place after 78 minutes to keep out a shot. A counter attack three minutes later ended with Krisztian Tamas shooting on the edge of the box, but it rolled wide of the goal. Bence Szabo also tried his luck moments later, but the keeper did not have to save. Renhe levelled in the final minute when a free kick ended up with Li Chen finding the net from close range. There was barely time to kick off as the first friendly ended in a 1-1 draw.
Vidi are next up against Joan Carrillo's Wisła Kraków on Tuesday. That friendly kicks off at 15:00pm.
