Vidi will kick off the new campaign with a home game against Lombard Papa
Lombard finished 14th in last season's first division, ending up 8 points above 15th place Vasas, who were relegated along with ZTE. They played 30 times last year, scoring 26 goals and conceded 40 at the same time. They managed to stay in the first division despite a couple of weeks occupying one of the drop out places.
Sunday's opponents have been busy in the transfer market with many changes taking place to their squad. A total of eight players left the club, while nine arrived. One of their star players from the previous season also left the club. Striker Gergo Lovrencsics departed to Polish side Lech Poznan on a loan deal. Talented Gabor Gyomber left the club for Ferencvaros as well. Ex FTC player Bela Maroti joined Papa, with former Győri ETO defender Otto Szabo also joining up with Ferenc Bene's side. Latvian striker Aleksandrs Cekulajevs has also strengthened Papa. Cekulajevs scored 46 goals in just 35 games during the 2011-12 Latvian league season.
Vidi's record over Papa is almost 100%, with ten league games having been played between the pair so far. The first game ended in a 2-2 draw, while Vidi have gone on to win the next 9 in a row. The most recent success over them was on May 20th 2012, when Videoton recorded a 2-0 home win, thanks to a Nikolics double.
