Mezey talks about the capture of the two players from Sweden

Djordic and Mutumba arrived at the training base in Windischgarsten at around midnight after a long and rugged journey

"We had been negotiating for several weeks, before we saw the light at the end of the tunnel, which saw the two players move from Sweden to the club," began Mezey. "It became clear in the end that the Swedish club had been biding their time, as they did not want to let Djordjic or Mutumba leave the club before replacements had arrived. Videoton have made a real step in European football with these two signings, which I feel represents a real breakthrough. I am interested in what will be the continuation of this. I can also say that we are expecting a new striker to arrive this week. We are also continuing to find a solution in the area of central defence. Negotiations are ongoing at present with the latter. We had drawn up a list of 3 defenders. The first of which, totally understandably, moved from Aberdeen to Celtic.

The second of the three went from Denmark to continue his career in Turkey, and decided not to choose us. It is sad to say but Hungarian football is at the stage where we will always be the last option for players to sign for us. I would also add that our transfer activity for this season, would end if we manage to bring in a striker and a central defender."
