Videoton enjoy a better overall record
The first league match:
The first match between the two took place back on the 3rd March 1968 in the first division. Vidi were making their debut in the top division, but ended up losing 6-1 to Vasas. Laszlo Csukovics scored Vidi's only goal after 83 minutes.
The first Vidi win:
That came in season 1970/71 when Videoton won 1-0 away from home at Fay street. Tibor Wollek scored the games only goal that day. The first home win at the Sostoi stadium came a season later, in 1972/73. The 18th November 1972 saw an easy 3-0 home win, with goals from Burka, Szalmasy and Karsai.
The biggest victory:
That was back in season 1988/89, when Vidi beat Vasas 4-0. A double from Tamas Petres, and further goals from Nemeth and Mariasi did the damage. Videoton have beaten Vasas by 3 goals more than once. This season's autumn fixture saw a 3-0 home win for Gyorgy Mezey's side. Alves, Elek and Vujovics were the goalscorers in that match at the Sostoi.
The best individual performance:
We do not have to go too far into the past to find the answer. The 13th league match of the 2009/2010 season, resulted in a 4-2 away win at Vasas. Andre Alves was in top form that day, scoring three times, to help Vidi pick up all three points.
Top goalscorers:
Jozsef Szabo managed to find the back of the Vasas net 8 times in all. Other players who enjoyed playing against Vasas were Tibor Wollek (7 goals), Laszlo Tiber (6 goals) and Gyorgy Novath (5 goals).
