José Gomes: "The game began fairly balanced, but two individual errors cost us goals and that gave the home side the advantage. That put us in a tough situation from then on, as it is hard to get back up from a two goal deficit in a cup final. The players battled with honor and we created many chances, but we could not convert them sadly. We scored a consolation goal in the second half, but could not find the goal to level the score."

Tomiszlav Szivics: "I can understand that the Fehervar side are a little nervous. With such a squad and background as they have, and to end up not winning anything is not a nice thing. I would like to congratulate my team and we showed that there is good work going on here, and we have brought a trophy back to Miskolc. We managed to surprise Videoton FC with two quick goals following counter attacks, which gave us a two goal lead. Videoton directed things but they did not really create any serious chance. I took off my jacket in the final minutes of the game to lift the supporters, but I do not think that I did anything that was unsporting."
