José Gomes: The players fought with honor and we created many chances but we could not convert them

The two managers spoke to the media shortly after the final whistle.

José Gomes: "The game began fairly balanced, but two individual errors cost us goals and that gave the home side the advantage. That put us in a tough situation from then on, as it is hard to get back up from a two goal deficit in a cup final. The players battled with honor and we created many chances, but we could not convert them sadly. We scored a consolation goal in the second half, but could not find the goal to level the score."

Tomiszlav Szivics: "I can understand that the Fehervar side are a little nervous. With such a squad and background as they have, and to end up not winning anything is not a nice thing. I would like to congratulate my team and we showed that there is good work going on here, and we have brought a trophy back to Miskolc. I am very proud about this and would like to thank our fantastic supporters. We are at the end of a tough run. We managed to surprise Videoton FC with two quick goals following counter attacks, which gave us a two goal lead. Videoton directed things but they did not really create any serious chance. They have not been able to beat us in any of the matches we have played against them this season. That is why I would have expected them to congratulate us after today's match. I took off my jacket in the final minutes of the game to lift the supporters, but I do not think that I did anything that was unsporting."
