Istvan Kovacs: We could have won by more goals

The midfielder scored the first goal in Saturday's league victory over Vasas.

"The first half of our midweek cup win over Haladas was not as good as it should have been. The second half went much better for us. Manager Ferenc Horvath highlighted before our game with Vasas to be very disciplined from the first minute. He also said that we should play concentrated football and build attacks on our home pitch. I am pleased that we managed to score a goal after 10 minutes, which gave us a base in the game in order that we did not need to worry too much following going 1-0 up. I did not feel that Vasas put us under any real pressure to get back in to the match. Perhaps it is better to say that we did not let them create serious attacks. I would not like to say anything negative about Vasas but we should have won by more goals. There were several dangerous crosses put in but we could not convert those into goals. We must also say that Vasas could have gone 1-0 very early on, but once we took the lead, there was only ever going to be one side that would collect the 3 points" - commented Istvan Kovacs.
