The reaction of the two managers following the XX result on Saturday evening.
Imre Szabics:
"I really enjoyed the game, I think it was a very good match for the fans and the neutral spectators, with a lot of situations. Of course, we could have finished the game a bit earlier, we could have been more relaxed on the bench if we would had scored our goals from our counter-attacks, but unfortunately we didn't. I feel that everyone who came to the stadium today had a great experience, and for me it was a great adrenaline shock in the ninety minutes. I am satisfied and proud of the match today. We went into the last national team break with two wins, but we fell apart because Covid broke into the dressing room. Nobody cares about that, but it was a tough situation inside. We didn't cry, we did our job. After all the difficulties, I had the feeling in today's game that life will give something back and not avenge the fact that we missed chances. But we will have to manage our opportunities better in the future."
At the post-match press conference, our head coach was also asked about the planned counterattacks and Ivan Petryak's injury.
"You can plan a lot of things for a football match, but every match has its own dynamics. During the analysis we came to the conclusion that Honvéd will want to play football, and as a result they will concede the ball. We have also practised this phase of football during the week, but this is when the aforementioned match dynamics come into play: we managed to take the lead, so the counter-attacks have been magnified. That said, looking at the statistics of the game, I saw that we had more possession. But it was self-evident that with the advantage we would be able to be dangerous from counterattacks. I don't have an exact diagnosis on Petryak yet, we will find out exactly what the situation is with him in the days to come. After the problems of the last five weeks, I hope that we will not have another problem."
Ferenc Horváth:
I think those who sat down to watch this game had a good time. It had everything that makes football beautiful, especially in the second half. We weren't as brave as I would have liked in the first half, but of course Vidi are a good team. But all in all we did our best to get at least a point. We played quite a dangerous game, it was very honest football from us today. We deserved a point, but I still congratulate my team on the performance. Vidi's victory is not undeserved, as they had some very serious chances. I'm not going to say anything clever, but the one who shoots the chances wins. We had a great chance before the second goal, but the counter came and it was 2-0 instead of 1-1.
