Hungary produced a good second half performance to pick up 3 points
Following the defeat in Sweden last Friday, Hungary were once again involved in a European championship qualifier, when they beat Moldova 2-1, on a rainy Tuesday evening in Ujpest. Manager Sandor Egervari included three Videoton players in his starting line up. Pal Lazar picked up his second cap at right back. Akos Elek produced a solid performance in midfield, while Zoltan Liptak looked comfortable at centre back. The trio all did well and helped Hungary to an important win in their group.
The goals came in the second half when Gergely Rudolf his a long range shot into the bottom right hand corner of the net. Vladimir Koman added a second, with another good shot from distance. Moldova managed to score a consolation goal, towards the end, but Hungary saw the game out and won 2-1.
