The two managers spoke to the media following Thursday's game.
Henning Berg:
"We played a good match against a strong side. We were unlucky to have lost by a single goal. We were big and organised at the back and we allowed the Danes three, or maximum four chances, which were not even too big chances. We managed to create some chances in our forward play, but not enough. I saw many positive things from my team on the pitch, and we must carry on building on these. We will need to convert the more efficiently the chances that we create in the return leg. We also need to make better decisions in the attacking third, and perhaps this will be the most important thing that we need to develop in. We faced a strong side that we have yet to meet. We had to play quicker and there was more pressure than usual. This was a good experience for us. Midtjylland have been playing like this for three years now, while we have been doing what we are doing for two months. We are still at the start of our journey, but I can confidently say that I can already see good signs in the way we play. We will get the rewards from our work."
Jess Thorup:
"The game went the way we expected it to. We were counting on Videoton defending well and hitting dangerous counter attacks. We managed to cope well with this, and the home side had perhaps two good chances. I still think that we did not play the way we know we can, but we scored from one of our few chances. The away goal in a situation like this will count for a lot, so I am satisfied."
