Gabor Marton: You cannot win games by not scoring goals

The two managers spoke at the post match press conference.

Gabor Marton:

"The first half was a fairly balanced game, there were opportunities for both sides. In the second half of the game we were able to force our will on Mezőkövesd much better, there were situations from which we could have scored goals but unfortunately the goal did not come. Based on our performance in the second half, we were perhaps a little closer to victory than our opponent, but you can’t win a match without a goal. I have a feeling of lack of results, however, the players did everything I asked them to do in advance. We defended and attacked very high, but we were nervous about our chances. We have to work for success and luck after the last two matches and we will do that too" - commented Gabor Marton.

Attila Pinter:

"We knew where we were going, we knew how strong a squad Vidi has, they are fighting for the league title, they have international players. I think we were closer to getting three points than the home team in both the first and second halves. In the second half, perhaps the opponent had a more dangerous opportunity, and we had a situation where they were able to clear a shot from the goal line. Unfortunately, we were unable to take advantage of our opportunities tonight. If we look at the budgets of the two clubs, I think we couldn’t see the difference on the pitch. I’m proud of the guys, they played smart and disciplined. We don’t have a big squad as our opponent has, but our substitutions were also able to add that maximum to our game. We must rejoice in that one point and we must continue on this path" - commented Attila Pinter.
