On Wednesday at 13:00 we played Zalaegerszeg behind closed gates at the MOL Arena Sósto. In the first match of the new year, Imre Szabics chose Kovácsik - Nego, Lüftner, Musliu, Hangya - Alef, Kovács I. - Evandro, Nikolic, Csoboth - Zivzivadze to start, while ZTE's bench included Dániel Zsóri and Ádám Halmai, who are on loan from Vidi.
Zimonyi of Zalaegerszeg had the first chance of the match, but the striker from the visiting team missed the goal from close range after a left-wing cross. 11 minutes later, Spoljaric's powerful shot from the centre was saved by Kovácsik. In the 21st minute, Evandro's pass was headed wide by Zivzivadze from 16 metres. After four minutes Zimonyi was in position again, but he missed the goal from a set-piece, and in the 27th minute Zivzivadze won a ball in the opponent's area, and headed the ball towards Demjén, who was held by the ZTE defenders, and missed the chance. After that, there was no real danger in the first half, and at the break ZTE substituted all their players, with Imre Szabics making no changes.
Zalaegerszeg took the lead in the 13th minute of the second half, Szabolcs Szalay converted Grezda's right-wing cross from the middle of the penalty area (0-1).
