The OTP league continues with a tough home game on Sunday.
On Sunday at 17:45 the MOL Aréna Sósto we will host the league match between MOL Fehérvár FC and Újpest FC in the 21st round of the OTP Bank Liga NB I. Like us, Újpest are also winless in the league this spring, losing 1-0 to FTC and Gyirmott, while the last time the bottom-placed team played a 0-0 draw against Kisvárda. During the winter transfer period, there was moderate movement in the IV district. Three players left and four arrived, including Vidi striker Budu Zivzivadze, who will be on loan at Újpest in the spring.
WINTER PLAYER MOVEMENT AT ÚJPEST FC
Arrivals: Märten Kuusk (Estonian, Flora Tallinn – Estonia), Kádár Tamás (Tiencsin Tigers – China)
Loan arrivals: Budu Zivzivadze (Georgian, MOL Fehérvár FC), Vincent Onovo (Nigerian, Randers – Denmark)
Promoted from the youth system: Eckl Patrik, Ognjen Radosevics, Varga György Balázs
Departure: Stieber Zoltán (MTK Budapest)
Loan departures: Máté Zsolt (Tiszakécske), Junior Tallo (Ivory Coast, Samsunspor – Turkey)
On the last day of last year, Újpest sacked head coach Michael Oenning, with whom the purple and white club won the Hungarian Cup last season - beating us 1-0 in the final after extra time. Oenning's replacement is former Serbian international Miloš Kruščić, who continues to lead Újpest in the league, but they did manage to go through to the last 8 in the MOL Hungarian Cup after beating Kisvárda 2-1 at home.
Újpest FC have won only 4 of their 20 league games so far, losing 10 times and drawing 6 times. Our opponent on Sunday scored the third fewest goals in the league. Újpest's top scorer is Giorgi Beridze with 5 goals.
