Asmir Suljic: "I am proud of the team's performance but not completely satisfied with my own"

The Bosnian midfielder feels that achieving second place was a big success. He would like to perform even better next season.

"It was a very difficult season for me. It is true that I was not the with Vidi from the start of the season. I joined the club after the seventh game of the season. You could sense back then that something was not completely OK with things in Szekesfehervar last summer. I came to Videoton to fight for trophies. Although we did not win anything in the season that has just ended, I feel that getting second place counts as a big success, if we look at where the team had to start from. I can comfortably say that the whole team fought bravely to get second place. We managed to show that we are capable of playing attractive and good football. We do not have to explain to anyone just what a result it was to win 3-0 away at the home of Ujpest. I am proud of the team and also that I can be a player for Videoton. There is another side to the results: I was not totally satisfied with my own performances. I could not give everything that is in me but I am very motivated. I really want to show the real Suljic to the supporters next season. My team mates were very quick to accept me, and despite poorer than normal performances, the supporters also quickly took me in within them. It is very important to rest during May, and arrive back for pre-season that we are ready for the Europa League. I will spend the break at home in Sarajevo, but also plan to visit my brother in Sweden" - commented Asmir Suljic.
