Akos Elek back in midfield

Akos Elek was forced to miss the training camp in Austria, after turning his ankle in the first training session of the Summer season. However, he was back in a Videoton shirt for the Super Cup final.

- Thankfully my ankle is back to 100%, which saw me miss a total of 4 days training. I remained behind to train with Balazs Beko and Zsolt Dveri, when the others went to Austria. I feel fine physically, but am still not where I want to be with my stamina. I also need to get match practice under my belt. I was delighted to play in a key match the other day. I was also pleased that I returned to midfield. If I had played a bit further in, that would have been perfect, but I think that will come in the future.

Q) It appears that with the arrival of Hidvegi, you have now returned to your former position.....

A) Yes, however, when the manager first told me to continue in defence, I was not bitter and I had no problem with the decision. It is normal that I should play wherever the manager wants me to. I do not care where I play as long as I am not on the bench. There is more chance of me scoring more goals from midfield, even if I scored a few from the back. I would like to double the five goals that I scored last season.

Q) The news reported recently that a massive storm hit the village of Banreve, causing lots of damage. You are from that area and your parents live there. Did they suffer any damage?

A) I was in Szekesfehervar, where it was 40c and very sunny. I was just about to leave with my girlfriend for Lake Balaton, when my mother called full of tears, to tell me the news. She said that the storm had destroyed the village in the space of ten minutes. We were lucky, as we recently changed the roof with new tiles. So our house escaped any damage. However, the window in both my brother and my bedroom was broken.
