Before the match, Attila Balogh, the managing Director, greeted the legend of our club, József Szabó, who celebrated his 69th birthday on Friday.
We started the game well, Pető fired a shot in the first minute, but it was wide of the target. Four minutes later, Melnyik broke forward from his own half, passed to Katona, whose 18-metre shot was saved by Pécsi in the visiting goal.
In the 13th minute, we took the lead with a beautiful goal: a great start from Bálint Szabó saw Stefanelli racing down the left, his cross was met by Katona, who cleverly flicked the ball into the corner of the net (1-0),
Ten minutes later, our former player and PAFC captain Roland Szolnoki was left on the floor and had to be substituted as he was stretchered off with an injury. In the 27th minute, the first shot on goal from Felcsút saw Favorov shoot just metres over. After half an hour Levi won a duel with Melnyik and missed from 20 metres. In the 37th minute, Favorov curled a free-kick over the goal from 25 meters, and at the other end Pető found the ball in the PAFC box and shot wide of the goal, so the teams went to the dressing rooms for the half-time break with a 1-0 Vidi lead.
We had the first chance of the second half in the 53rd minute, Milicevic's cross was headed at goal by Stefanelli, but Pécsi easily collected the ball. Ten minutes later, Zsolt Nagy scored at the end of a fast counterattack, but the VAR examined the chance and it turned out that the goal was ruled offside and referee Pintér - quite rightly - disallowed the goal.
PAFC put more pressure on us in the second half, but our team defended really well throughout and we finally kept the 3 league points at home with a very important victory. We will continue in a week at home to Paks.
