A game of twist and turns and a 2-2 scoreline

Vidi and Honved shared a point each on Sunday evening with the goals coming from Nego and Petryak.

The two week international break was followed by a trip to Budapest Honved in match 7 of the OTP league. Manager Gabor Marton chose the following side: Rockov - Bolla, Musliu, Stopira, Fiola - Nikolov, Nego - Funsho, Houri, Evandro - Zivzivadze. The visiting section at the Hidegkuti Nandor stadium was almost full with over 200 Fehervar fans making the journey to the capital.

The game began well with the first big chance arriving inside 10 minutes. A pass from Funsho finding Zivzivadze with a chance, but he spent too much time on the ball and Tujvel managed to block. A mistake by Batik a couple of minutes later ended with his cross ball finding the unmarked Zivzivadze, who produced a very good stop from home keeper Tujvel. Vidi went close again a minute later following a Houri corner, which was headed back in by Stopira for Musliu to hook his shot over the bar from close range. That was the third big chance inside five minutes.

Vidi continued to direct things in the minutes that followed. We had to wait 30 minutes for the first chance from the home team. Szendrei sending his shot well over the bar from 24 meters. Bolla sent in a nice ball towards Nego five minutes before the break. He did not manage to control the ball fully, which allowed Kamber to step in and clear. Those missed chances were punished as so often in football. Just on half time, Honved were awarded a free kick: Gazdag struck the post with his shot from 20 meters, but the rebound fell kindly to Balogh, who rolled the ball into the back of the net (1-0).

The second half started with a shot from distance by Nego, which was blocked by a home defender. Bolla curled an effort over the bar five minutes later. We managed to draw level after 64 minutes: Houri sent in a fine ball towards Petryak, who had just come on as a substitute, and he laid the ball into the path of Nego, who shot just under the bar and into the back of the net (1-1). Three minutes later and Petryak did very well to curl a lovely ball into the Honved goal to make it 1-2 as Vidi turned the game on its head inside a short period of time.

The game could have been decided after 69 minutes when Funsho ran alone at goal with Nikolic totally unmarked in the middle, but Funsho chose to shoot and Tujvel saved. Honved again punished Vidi for not converting the chances. Tamas sent in a free kick on 74 minutes, which Traore rose to head above Rockov, who had come out to collect, but the ball rolled over the line and Honved brought the score back to 2-2.

Houri curled a dangerous 78th minute free kick wide of the right post. Alef also tried from distance on 85 minutes, but Tujvel was well placed to deal with it. There was no further change to the scoreline as Vidi came away from Budapest with a point.

A trip to Mezokovesd is next up for Vidi on the 25th October.
